A Simple Way To Live

1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Many Christians have what they call a life verse. For quite some time Psalms 139:23-24 have been my life verses.

Psalms 139:23-24: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I have a life prayer and now I also a life phrase that I want to live by. We can make our lives much simpler by praying that prayer and living by that phrase. When my life gets complicated I need that simplicity. Nothing is more important than having His leadership and glorifying Him by following it.

Do all to the glory of God is a phrase that we should all live by. That phrase and the whole verse are easy to memorize and are well worth it. When you are in doubt about what to do or say, remember the phrase. I now have a prayer to pray and a question to ask myself before any decision: Will doing that thing or saying that thing bring glory to God?

James 1:5: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Glorifying God is the wisest thing we can do. If we are as willing to glorify Him as He is to give us wisdom we will succeed.
